Shepard Fairey to DJ, Edward Sharpe to Perform at Bernie Sanders Coachella Party

Maybe Bernie Sanders has finally gone too far. While Hillary Clinton has long been lambasted for trying to appeal to young voters, Bernie has been applauded for the way he’s courted bands such as Vampire Weekend and Grizzly Bear. It was all fun and cool to see the grandpa candidate playing with the young guys, but he’s crossed a line with this one: his campaign is throwing a block party the Thursday before next weekend’s Coachella — in the actual city of Coachella, though. Coachella takes place in Indio.

It’s being hashtagged as #Berniechella, but I refuse to believe that’s the official name of the event. What can be confirmed is the lineup, which will include Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Ozomatli, Moses Sumney, and DJ sets from Shepard Fairey and Zoe Kravitz. It’s free, and will take place tomorrow and Friday prior to the official Coachella events.

It seems, then, should these parties go off without a hitch, Bernie isn’t planning on bowing out of the race after his recent loss in the New York Primary, which is keeping in line with statements he made prior to the primary, sure.

Take a look at the poster below. I wonder, will Zoe Kravitz spin “American Woman“?
