Watch the Trailer for Robert Kirkman’s New Show About Demonic Possession, ‘Outcast’

Patrick Fugit is maybe best known as the young reporter/fanboy in Almost Famous, and Robert Kirkman is probably best known as the bearded creator of The Walking Dead and its spin-off series, Fear the Walking Dead. Well, the two of them have teamed up to create a television show born from Kirkman’s graphic novel series, Outcast, which he writes alongside Paul Azaceta. It’s set to air on Cinemax and it looks pretty darn scary, and in a way that is very different from The Walking Dead.

Fugit plays a man named Kyle Barnes who has been dealing with possession in his town ever since he was a child, which begs the question: why hasn’t he just moved away? Well, because he fears that he somehow encourages these possessions, so he sequesters himself until finally he’s forced to deal with a young child who moves across town and seems to be slowly succumbing to his own possession — and it’s one that is, somehow, connected to Kyle. Spooky! The demons here seem to be represented by amorphous black blobs, which, really, would scare anyone.

The show also stars Wrenn Schmidt (Person of Interest), Philip Glenister, and Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards). The first season of Outcast is set to premiere June 3 on Cinemax. Watch the trailer below.
