Ben Stiller’s Company Producing “Racy” Comedy Anthology, ‘Bitches,’ for Hulu

Deadline reports that Ben Stiller’s Red Hour is producing an anthology series based on the Brazilian show As Canalhas — and while that seems, according to the always-reliable, slang-savvy Google translate, to translate to “scoundrels,” the title of the American version is Bitches. Unlike AHS or ACS or True D, the anthological aspect of the series is episodic — in the vein of Black Mirror, except thematically not at all in the vein of Black Mirror. Each installment will focus on a separate character as they confide their “dirty deeds and misadventures” in their hairdresser — including “stories of confronting dominant husbands, turning the tables on frenemies, and finding sweet vengeance after being cruelly pushed to the edge.”

Billed as a half-hour “racy” comedy, the series is written by Nzingha Stewart (who’s directed episodes of The Fosters, UnREAL and Pretty Little Liars) and G.L. Lambert (who, unless it’s another G.L. Lambert, is the author of the book Ho Tactics: How To MindF**k A Man into Spending, Spoiling, and Sponsoring). It’s being made for Hulu, but beyond that, little is known as far as specifics go.
