Kanye Debuts “Cruel Summer” Single, Unleashes Synthy Gloom

At least SOMEONE is following through on their album today. Three years after rumors began for a G.O.O.D. compilation album “Cruel Winter,” a follow-up to their “Cruel Summer,” Kanye West announced that he would drop a new track from the forthcoming album this morning.

According to Big Boy, it’s called “Champions” (not to be confused with Kanye’s other song, the singular “Champion“) or “Round & Round,” but neither has been confirmed yet. The single is obviously great and features so, so many artists on it: Desiigner, Travis Scott, Big Sean, Quavo, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti and just-released Gucci Mane (who has been busy this year!). Scott tweeted this morning about writing the song three years ago before West picked it up.

“I had the basic beat for a year and a half,” West said on Big Boy’s show. “It sounded right for this project.”
