‘T2 Trainspotting’ Soundtrack Features Blondie, Queen, and the Return of “Lust for Life”

One of the most memorable parts of the first Trainspotting film (very weird to now have to qualify Trainspotting with a “first”) was its soundtrack. In fact, it was so extensively liked that it actually led to the release of a second soundtrack album; from Lou Reed to New Order to Blur, it gathered some of the mopiest rock-dudes of the late 20th century into one film, and then onto one (then two) albums. Now, the soundtrack for T2 Trainspotting has been revealed. The soundtrack has a couple returning artists, including Iggy Pop (back in remixed format, with the same song — “Lust for Life” — from the first film) and Underworld. Some exciting new additions include Blondie, Young Fathers (who have three songs on the soundtrack), and Queen.

Here’s the track list:

1. Iggy Pop: “Lust for Life (The Prodigy Remix)” (like above to original version) 2. High Contrast: “Shotgun Mouthwash” 3. Wolf Alice: “Silk” 4. Young Fathers: “Get Up” 5. Frankie Goes to Hollywood: “Relax” 6. Underworld /Ewen Bremner: “Eventually But” 7. Young Fathers: “Only God Knows” 8. The Rubberbandits: “Dad’s Best Friend” 9. Blondie: “Dreaming” 10. Queen: “Radio Ga Ga” 11. Run D.M.C. vs. Jason Nevis: “It’s Like That” 12. The Clash: “(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais” 13. Young Fathers: “Rain or Shine” 14. Fat White Family: “Whitest Boy on the Beach” 15. Underworld: “Slow Slippy”

The film will be released in the U.S. on March 17. Check out the album art:
