Watch Zombie-Drew Barrymore Eat a Lot of Raw Meat in First Full ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ Trailer

All 13 episodes of Netflix’s Drew Barrymore-starring lighthearted suburban zombie comedy series will be available to stream on February 3. (A sentence nobody would’ve even begun to understand back when, say, Never Been Kissed was released.) And finally, after some charmingly gory promos (where Barrymore spoke as though in an infomercial for the Santa Clarita Diet, which of course just means being undead and eating people), The Santa Clarita Diet has its first real trailer.

It gives us a 2.5 minute glimpse into the lives/unlives of Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila, two real estate agents in Santa Clarita, California, sustaining their family by selling cookie cutter houses, while the family simultaneously sustains Sheila’s sudden hankering for human flesh by helping her murder the “food that deserves it.”

Typical innocuous conversations about dieting and lifestyle improvement include:

“I do like the way that I feel. I have endless energy and I sleep two hours a night. I get so much done.”

“You eat people.”

“I know, it’s just that I’m so much more confident.”
