‘The Simpsons’ Has a Fittingly Dour Take on Trump’s First 100 Days

As many comedians have pointed out in the past few months, it’s not easy to make fun of an administration that seems dead-set on making fun of itself day in and day out. Of course, it’d be a lot funnier to watch the Trump Administration’s daily blunders if the weight of the free world weren’t on its shoulders, but hey! That’s what TV is for.

In a new promo for Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons, Donald Trump looks back on his first 100 days in office, which will end on Saturday. The clip, released via Twitter, opens on the rather mordant image of Sean Spicer, having hanged himself from the ceiling beside his podium, with a piece of paper reading, “I QUIT” taped to his chest. Kellyanne Conway sees the body and runs off, declaring, “I am not replacing him!” (H/T Vulture.)

Another scene shows Trump in bed with his wife phone, surrounded by books with titles like, The Little Book of Big Bombs, Killing a Good Thing, by Bill O’Reilly, and Florida on 810 Million Dollars a Day. An aide rushes in with a new bill that “lowers taxes for only Republicans,” to which Trump responds, “Can’t Fox News read it and I’ll watch what they say?” Also, Ivanka Trump has taken Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court. No wonder Marge has already run out of her painkillers. Watch:
