TV on the Radio, Bon Iver, and Sharon Van Etten to Play David Lynch’s Disruption Festival

Did you know David Lynch has his own music festival? This perhaps shouldn’t come as much of a surprise from the director who’s also had his own brand of coffee, a sporadic weather reporting web series, and quinoa tutorials — in fact, the only surprise perhaps is that it just isn’t nearly as banally weird as those latter two hobbies. Last year marked the first Festival of Disruption at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, and this year it’ll be held on October 14 and 15, with tickets on sale this Friday. The lineup, as Pitchfork reports, includes everything from screenings of old David Lynch works to DJ sets to concert sets to exhibits to talks with Lynch collaborators to…meditation sessions, as we cannot forget that transcendental meditation, too, has become an unwavering element of the Lynch…thing.

The list of musicians performing is pretty enticing — with concerts from Bon Iver, TV on the Radio, Sharon Van Etten (who’s allegedly appearing this season on Twin Peaks, perhaps in one of the abrupt indie-rock-concert episode endings), Reggie Watts, and Laura Marling. Meanwhile, included among the talks are Twin Peaks’ Laura Palmer herself, Sheryl Lee, and Lost Highway star Bill Pullman.
