Amazing Images of Cities in Motion

Tobi Shinobi's "Light Railing" series uses long exposures to turn urban environments into tunnels of light.

Maybe you can chalk it up to our current location and urban orientation, but we love artists who take an interest in seeing cities in a new way — whether it’s by creating street art, turning street objects into art, or photographing cities in unusual ways.

So Tobi Shinobi’s “Light Railing” series (which came to our attention via My Modern Met) is right up our alley. In it, the photographer and videographer uses long exposures on a moving camera to recast cities as tubes of activity and shafts of light. You can see his work on his site or on Instagram; these are some of our favorites from this series.
