Sony – The Art Of Panoramic Shooting, Part 2

Share:

Last month we put out an open call for a few good photojournalists because our friends at Sony® wanted to hook up four lucky readers (one in each of our cities: NYC, LA, CHI, and SF) with a brand-new Sony® Cyber-shot® TX7 camera. This camera is particularly good for capturing sweeping crowd shots and panoramic views — thanks to its special iSweep Panorama mode — which makes it perfect for capturing footage at live events.

Want proof? Winners in each city were given an itinerary (and free tickets) from our editors; click through to view their latest set of pics.

Los Angeles – Evan Dumouchel at Royal-T “Royal-T is a Culver City-based cafe/exhibition space for edgy, thought-provoking artwork ranging from my personal favorite, the Porta-Party — a human-sized iPod that you get inside of — to larger than life prints of Harajuku girls decorating the walls. Then, of course, there’s the cafe portion of the experience. Fantastic teas, great food, and an appropriately offbeat waitstaff made Royal-T the place to be on a Saturday afternoon.”

San Francisco – Megan Costello at Urban Assault “The Urban Assault Ride is part bike race, part scavenger hunt, part obstacle course, and all around ridiculous fun. The race took riders to all parts of Berkeley, from the Rose Garden in the hills (yeesh, what a hike!) all the way down to the Berkeley Marina. In the end everyone was invited to kick their bike aside and enjoy the after-party with some well-earned New Belgium beer and more bicycle-related mayhem and games.”

Chicago – Michelle Gantner at Chicago Police Department Fundraiser “The Chicago Police Department Memorial Foundation’s annual gala was held on a yacht this year. The event helps raise funds for the families of police offers who were killed on the job.”
