When a trailer demonstrates this much elegance, control and brutality, one can only hope that the film maintains this level of intensity throughout. A remake of the 1960 South Korean film with the same title, The Housemaid is a timeless tale of power and wealth, lust and desire.

err…umm…what about netflix recs? for those of us that don’t live on the coasts and have terrible theater choices?
Americans see a mainstream UK film with dialogue spoken in english as ‘foreign’?
This misinformed article just proves the point that major foreign-language art-house releases are not making it to US shores anymore. As anyone with a clue about the US film distribution scene knows, the indie distribution system collapsed last year. This journalist should do his homework to avoid making such a fool of himself in the future. Perhaps read the occasional copy of Variety.
