Indie film festival, Slamdance, kicks off in Park City, Utah on January 18. Organizers have announced a new slate of Special Screenings and the addition of the Slam Collective, which is being described as a collaboration with “global filmmakers using innovative methods and shared experience,” who are “inspired by the idea that with digital technology, cameras, online distribution, like-minded filmmakers from different cultures across continents can embrace a basic concept and create several films with one unifying theme; the discovery of community.” The group played a little filmic exquisite corpse and came up with the experimental doc, I Want to Be An American, which premieres on January 21. Check out a trailer for the fest and the newly announced titles, below. Head to Film School Rejects for the previously announced features. [via FSR]
