A ‘Full House’ Revival Shouldn’t Happen but Probably Will

In today’s edition of “I Should Have Seen That Coming,” John Stamos is looking to bring back Full House. A revival of the popular sitcom has been mulled about for years (as a sequel, a movie, and a 10/90 sitcom) but so far, has never worked out. According to a TV Guide exclusive, it looks like this is finally going to happen whether we want it to or not. (We don’t.)

Full House was the flagship program on ABC’s TGIF lineup, ran for eight seasons, and continues to live on in syndication today. This revival is likely inspired by Girl Meets World, the simply acceptable spinoff of Boy Meets World, a similar family show that also aired on TGIF. Both shows still have devoted fans to this day. The Full House reboot, much like Girl Meets World, will reunite most of the former cast:

Original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin (who’s writing the new version) are actively involved. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are on board, while Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are also involved in some way.

There are worse shows to reboot but you know, we could also just stop rebooting shows. Oh, well. [via TV Guide]
