Actress Karen Black Dies at 74

Karen Black, who appeared in some of the most important movies of the late ’60s and ’70s, including Easy Rider, Nashville, and Five Easy Pieces, died yesterday after a long battle with stomach cancer. She appeared in over 100 films, with her late career focused primarily in the horror genre. An Oscar nominee for Five Easy Pieces, I’ll always remember her for her hilarious work in Robert Altman’s Nashville, for which she wrote two songs and was nominated for a Grammy.
