Clip of Amy Poehler/Paul Rudd Rom-Com Spoof Released

A clip from They Came Together, the upcoming rom-com parody starring Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd, was released this morning, it and seems to directly mock genre paradigm You’ve Got Mail. While Mail substituted “Barnes and Noble” for “Fox Books” as the exemplar of soulless-corporate-bookshop, Amy Poehler here slanders “Brahams and Nerble,” and while You’ve Got Mail had Meg Ryan waxing poetic about specific children’s book authors, here Poehler and Rudd settle their differences by discovering their shared love of, simply, “fiction.” The film, directed by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer) will be screened on the closing evening of Sundance. If the title is any indication, we can expect the faux-wholesomeness of the clip to give way to at least a few jizz jokes.
