If you’ve been paying attention to pop culture for the past 20 years or so, then you know there was about a 0% chance Courtney Love wouldn’t have something to say about last night’s brief Nirvana reunion, in which no Nirvana songs were performed. Yes, TMZ ran a brief quote from Love, in which she confirmed that she was “not amused” by the news, although “if John [Lennon] were alive it would be cool.”
But Love’s best medium in social media, and last night she offered some further thoughts via a series of comments on the Facebook page for Mark Yarm’s book, Everybody Love This Town: An Oral History of Grunge. Her response involves Alice in Chains, Dana Giacchetto, David Geffen, seeing ghosts while playing Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy” at Bumbershoot, and — obviously — Homeland. In the end, Love came back around to the specific topic at hand: “but i wont cry this time, i only care about his familty [sic] and bean and thats the fucking fgids truth any penny i get is going inti [sic] a charity that prevents mortgaage [sic] fraud.” So, now we know what Courtney Love thinks.
