Morrissey’s reissue of his 1989 single “The Last of the Famous International Playboys,” set for release April 8, will no longer feature its intended artwork, following a dispute with David Bowie. According to Morrissey’s official fan site, True to You, the sleeve would have included a never-before-seen Linder Sterling photo of Bowie and Morrissey in New York from 1992. But Bowie insisted in a statement that EMI UK should not run the image. “Although Bowie has no legal rights to the photograph, most of his back catalogue is presently licensed to EMI,” the statement read.
