“We’re going for it, and it feels good,” said Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger regarding plans to create films based on individual Star Wars characters. These films would be in addition to the sequels the company is developing with newly appointed director J.J. Abrams. Disney’s plan is to release a Star Wars update every other year (for a total of three) after Abrams’ first installment appears in summer 2015. WSJ reports that screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg will be crafting films about characters from the epic space series, but details are being held back at this time. Feel free to speculate to your heart’s content in the comments until we find out more. We just hope Yoda is on the list — a rumor that appeared last night.
