From book deals to Twiggy haircuts, we didn’t think we could be surprised by any news about cultural juggernaut Lena Dunham. But then we heard, via Deadline, that Dunham and her Girls collaborator, Jenni Konner, have another TV project in the works. HBO has optioned All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go, the forthcoming memoir by Betty Halbreich — a fascinating octogenarian who has run a personal shopping service out of Bergdorf Goodman since the ’70s. As anyone who read Judith Thurman’s recent New Yorker profile of Halbreich will know, she’s a firecracker with plenty of stories to tell, and her adventures would make great TV fodder. Excited as we are about this project, we have to wonder: Is Dunham ready to venture into the realm of the non-autobiographical?
