Haruki Murakami is the Odds-On-Favorite to Win the Nobel Prize in Literature

The British based gaming company Ladbrokes put out their odds for who will win the Nobel Prize in Literature, and at 3/1, Haruki Murakami is the current odds-on-favorite to win the prestigious award. Joyce Carol Oates has been given 6/1 odds, while Thomas Pynchon–who would probably only win the award because the committee had side bets to see if he’d show up–has been given 20/1 odds.

You might recall that Murakami was the favorite to walk out of Oslo with the medal last year is well, but the prize ended up going to Mo Yan, who was given 8/1 odds, and made at least one weirdo that actually bets on the award a good little chunk of cash.
