Here’s the First Trailer for Woody Allen’s ‘Blue Jasmine’

Woody Allen’s latest, Blue Jasmine, has been on our radar for a while now—not just because it’s a new film from Allen (always a cause for celebration), a reunion with Alec Baldwin, and a collaboration with Cate Blanchett, but because Louis C.K. is featured in a supporting role. The first trailer for the July release is out, and while there’s disappointingly little Louie in it (a single cutaway, no dialogue), the film itself is intriguing: a character study of a rich woman (Blanchett) who loses everything and bunks with her sister, it doesn’t seem to fit into either the comedy or drama boxes that most of his work is designed for. Then again, his best films (like Crimes and Misdemeanors and Hannah and Her Sisters) seem to wobble on that line, so this could be something very special indeed.
