Imprisoned Pussy Riot Member Hospitalized for Exhaustion, Overwork

Almost six months after conviction for “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred” along with fellow musician-activists Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich, Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova has been transferred to a prison hospital. Samutsevitch, who has since been released on appeal, reported that Tolokonnikova had been forced to sew several hundred jackets a day, resulting in acute exhaustion. Tolokonnikova is sentenced to spend two more years in custody. [via Jezebel]
