According to an exclusive report from TheWrap — which has yet to be confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm, so take it with a grain of salt — J.J. Abrams is all set to direct the next Star Wars film. (Also worth noting: Apparently Ben Affleck was in seriously in the running for the gig too.) Given that Disney had talked about a 2015 release, we imagine that Abrams is going to have to hop right from working on post-production of Star Trek Into Darkness to this new project — but at least he gets to stay in space.
