St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, the short story collection by Pulitzer Prize finalist and MacArthur Genius Karen Russell, has been optioned to be developed into a television show for ABC.

Jenny Bicks, co-executive producer of The Big C and Sex and the City, will oversee the production, and Channing Powell (of The Walking Dead) will write the script.

St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves takes place in the Florida Everglades, where the children of werewolves are refined by nuns, two brothers troubled by the drowning of their little sister find goggles that enable them to see ghosts, and a young misfit encases herself in a conch.
