Kevin Smith Announces Rare Opportunity to See ‘Jay & Silent Bob’ Movie, Hear Him Talk

In a startling about-face from his current activities, director Kevin Smith has announced a new project that will not only exploit our pleasant memories of the ‘Jay and Silent Bob’ characters, but that he will use as an excuse for a nationwide tour of rambling Q&As.

The tour for Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie, a low-budget animated effort directed by Steve Stark, will begin on April 20th (420 GET IT) in Atlanta. According to the website for Smith’s live events, the plot for the $69,000 movie (69 GET IT) is as follows: “When they can no longer stomach the ever-growing weed of suburban crime, Jay & Silent Bob take on the mantles of costumed avengers Bluntman & Chronic, smashing super-villains they accidentally create! Can the Doobage Duo save their beloved Jersey ‘burbs from their new arch enemies, the League of Shitters?”

Eighteen dates have been announced, with more added in late March; I’ll be at home, watching Chasing Amy and reminding myself of how much I used to dig this guy.
