The Flaming Lips may have a dark and disturbing new album on the way, but the single they’ve just debuted (which isn’t on the tracklist for The Terror) is so upbeat it’s practically an Apples in Stereo song. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that “Sun Blows Up Today” is slated to soundtrack a 60-second Hyundai Super Bowl commercial, which will also star the Lips. If you’re tempted to grumble about the band selling out, perhaps you can be swayed by the news that Hyundai will be giving away 100,000 free copies of the track via its website?
