Members of Portishead and Radiohead Combine to Form “Heads United” for Charity Soccer Team

Two Heads, united

Two of indie rock’s biggest, most serious heads have combined to form Heads United, a charity soccer team. Yeah: Radiohead and Portishead — specifically Philip Selway and Geoff Barrow — are working together to kick some balls around, and they apparently have a sense of humor about it. They’ve formed Heads United as a team to compete at the Football & Food Festival, sponsored by the Mary Hare Foundation, which focuses on educating deaf children and young people. If you’d like to support either humor in indie rock, or, (much) more importantly, great education for people with deafness, go donate to Heads United here.
