During the PaleyFest panel last night, celebrating the best in television’s creative programming, Mindy Kaling revealed that she’ll be spending the downtime between TV seasons working on an untitled book about “the high highs and low lows of the past 18 months.” Surely part of her new manuscript will center on her leaving The Office after eight years and adjusting to her seat at the head of the table on The Mindy Project — created by the actress. Look for the book “in like a year and a half,” which leaves you plenty of time to read her first memoir/observational essay Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). Kaling also confirmed, per Deadline, she’ll be returning to The Office for the series finale: “It’s really exciting. I’ve just read the pages, and it’s a really amazing episode of television.”
