Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Widow Not Happy With Planned Hologram Performance

Earlier this week, organizers of the hip-hop festival Rock the Bells announced that hologram technology would bring back deceased rappers Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Eazy E to perform with their respective rap groups, Wu Tang Clan and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. But ODB’s widow, Icelene Jones, isn’t too thrilled. “I am disappointed that Rock the Bells would not contact me directly about the use of my husband’s image,” Jones said in a statement released today. “I am looking forward to talking to Wu-Tang about this matter and coming up with a positive solution in order to bring my husband to the stage once again.” Meanwhile, ODB’s son is also saddened that he wasn’t asked to perform at this year’s event. “My son, Young Dirty Bastard, [also known as] Boy Jones has always performed at Rock the Bells,” Jones said, “and looks forward to working with his Uncle RZA every year.” (Is that the best sentence ever written in a press release or what?)
