Reenactments of Scenes From Best-Picture Nominees Starring Children are Both Cute and Unsettling

Though none of the movies nominated for best picture this year seem remotely acceptable for children, the eventual viral-ness of these CineFix children’s reenactments seems inevitable: watching a fake-mustachioed Tiny Theodore Twombly talk to Chipmunk Samantha in a Her parody, or four children in extravagant hairpieces cooking up a con in an American Hustle parody, we’re led to see maturity as a costume, and are therefore struck by what bizarre creatures we adults really are. Thankfully, the video takes a turn for the meta and alludes to the lack of age-appropriate content in 12 Years. Even with this acknowledgment, though, the video’s adorability is undercut by being just kinda disturbing.
