If you’re a fan of campy, 1960′s-era Jane Fonda in zero gravity, then you’ll be happy to find out that the Barbarella TV series Drive director, Nicolas Winding Refn, previously announced just got some major backing. Skyfall scribes, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, have joined the project that aims to reimagine the sexy space heroine for modern audiences. “I’m extremely excited that Neal and Robert have signed on to develop and write Barbarella with me,” Refn said. “I’m certain that the combination of our creative forces will produce a show that is as enthralling as it is sexy.” There’s still no word on the network behind the sci-fi series, but we’ll be dreaming of dazzling costumes and psychedelic eye candy until then.
