A movie in which Steve Carell and Jim Carrey play rival magicians did not, at first glance, seem like something we would be interested in seeing. But then we actually watched the Burt Wonderstone trailer — in which Steve Carell and his partner, played by Steve Buscemi, are basically Siegfried & Roy and Jim Carrey is pretty much Criss Angel — and were pleasantly surprised by its skewering of David Copperfield-style feats of pseudo-magical endurance. Seeing as the movie is also directed by Don Scardino, who Splitsider points out is the most frequent 30 Rock director, it may well be worth a watch.
