It’s already been a strange and momentous day for movie trailers, and it isn’t even noon yet. First Malick, then Franco — and now, Takashi Murakami. Jellyfish Eyes is set in Japan after a major earthquake and “follows a young boy who… has to move with his family to an ‘experimental city’ where each child is paired with a small monster.” The preview is in Japanese and is — like Murakami’s pop art — very Japanese in its sensibility, but the wondrous visuals give some idea of what we can expect from the film.
