Watch a Clip of Alexander Payne’s Cannes-Bound ‘Nebraska’

Alexander Payne, who has gotten that whole black-comedy thing on lock, has a new dramedy headed to Cannes this year. Starring Bruce Dern and Will Forte, Nebraska follows an estranged father and son who take a road trip across the country to collect the former’s Publisher’s Clearing House prize winnings. Shot in black and white, Payne’s new picture seems a bit darker than the other movies on his resume such as Sideways, About Schmidt, and The Descendants. Considering Payne’s record for getting his actors Oscars nominations, perhaps we should expect a nod going to Forte next year. (Better get those serious film careers together, Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis.) [via BlackBook]
