Well, this is an interesting — some might say horrifying — turn of events. Rumors of a Twin Peaks revival have been in the news lately. But while producer Mark Frost denies that he’s in talks with NBC about a new season, it looks like someone has his eye on the Twin Peaks tradition. And that person is… M. Night Shymalan! Yes, the increasingly incompetent fantasy-suspense director is developing a show called — sigh – Wayward Pines, based on Blake Crouch’s novel Pines and sold as an “intense, mind-bending thriller evocative of the classic cult hit Twin Peaks.” The show is slated to air on Fox as a one-off, 10-12 episode “long-form event series” in 2014.
