Over the last few months, we’ve gone a little bingo crazy here at Flavorwire — we’ve settled down to tick off key moments in Girls, dealt with the (unfortunately vomit-heavy) pitfalls of New Year’s Eve, and kept track of the relatives on Thanksgiving. Now we’re extending the concept to another area that begs for some bingo action: song lyrics! We’re starting with Afraid of Heights, the new album by Wavves, because, frankly, ticking off every time he mentions weed is pretty much the most enjoyable thing we can envisage doing with it (although, in fairness, it’s way better than his previous work). Anyway, we listened through the whole thing, and we’re pretty sure we scored a pretty comprehensive bingo. Bam. … Read More

Exclusive: ‘Girls’ Bingo
If you’re anything like us, you’re pretty psyched for tonight’s triumphant return of Girls. To celebrate the occasion, we’ve created a Girls-themed bingo game to add some extra grandma-style fun to your Season 2 premiere party. After the jump, you’ll find four bingo cards packed with the average Girls shenanigans — you know, “Jessa wears something sheer,” “Hannah is naked,” “Adam says something creepy,” and so on and so forth. If something on your card happens in the episode, mark the square and hope to eventually have five in a row. Got it? Good. Don’t forget to have a cupcake (or three) ready for the winner! … Read More
Exclusive: New Year’s Eve Bingo
It’s almost 2013, Flavorwire readers! How will you ring in the New Year? If your plan is to spend the night out at a party or a bar surrounded by friends and strangers, boy, do we have a game for you! Over the past couple months, we’ve brought you Thanksgiving Bingo and Holiday Party Bingo. Now, we’re giving New Year’s Eve Bingo a shot. Check out our four bingo cards after the jump, print ‘em out, share ‘em with a few friends, and place a sticker on each appropriate square as the night progresses. The first person to get five in a row wins 2013. Cool? Cool. Happy new year! And remember — bingo is a game of fate; you can’t manipulate your night to make sure these things happen. (So don’t force your friends to kiss strangers, mmk?) … Read More
Exclusive: Holiday Party Bingo
Happy holidays, party people! It’s time for another round of Flavorwire bingo. Last month, we posted “Thanksgiving” Bingo to spice up your family’s dysfunctional dinner table. This time, we’ve made a “Holiday Party” bingo set to be played with friends, family, and/or co-workers at the average holiday gathering. Hang all the mistletoe, throw some antlers on your pet, and hope that party goers are in the proper “Christmahanukwanzika” spirit — it’s time for Holiday Party Bingo! … Read More
Exclusive: Thanksgiving Bingo for Your Dinner Table
Tired of gathering around the same old Thanksgiving table to eat the same old delicious meal while having the same old Thanksgiving-themed conversations? Bingo makes everything more… Read More
Who Wants to Play Flaming Lips Bingo?
If you’ve ever been to a Flaming Lips show, you know what to expect: a giant screen projecting psychedelic naked-lady videos, confetti cannons, womb imagery — and, without fail, Wayne Coyne stepping into a giant hamster ball to wade out into the crowd like a certain messiah walking on water. In honor of last night’s Lips performance at the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur (perhaps the most appropriate combination of band and venue in history), LA Weekly pointed us to a set of Flaming Lips Bingo cards for fans to use at their live shows. Although we’re not sure how practical it would be to actually play while watching the relentless spectacle of the band’s performance (not to mention while in the throes of certain Lips fans’ substances of choice), the game is spot-on. Check out one of the cards after the jump, and click here to download the entire set, created by St. Louis’ Riverfront Times. … Read More
Who Wants to Play ‘The Newsroom’ Bingo?
Are you still watching Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom, readers? Can you update us on whether that nice, righteous, rich, white, middle-aged man has finally succeeded in getting all of those frustratingly diverse Millennials off his lawn with their Twitters and their blogs and such? All joking aside, we may finally have found a reason to give the HBO series another shot: Paste has created The Newsroom Bingo, so we and our friends can make a (drinking) game out of tracking the show’s tropes. Because it’s more fun to put a marker down (or take a sip of something strong) than to groan whenever poor Alison Pill stumbles over her words or Jeff Daniels uses an extended metaphor. Click through to see the first card in the series, then print out all four at Paste. … Read More
Who Wants to Play Wes Anderson Bingo?
Of all the auteurs working today, Wes Anderson’s films are probably the most instantly recognizable. (Well, except maybe for Tim Burton’s, but you can argue amongst yourselves about whether he still deserves to be called an auteur.) They feature a fairly consistent troupe of actors (Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman), a distinct visual style… Read More
Comic-Con Bingo Officially World’s Easiest Game to Win
San Diego Comic-Con International (known to nerds as simply “Comic-Con”) begins today, and if you didn’t already know that, you’ll probably have no use for the Comic-Con Bingo card the funny folks at Comedy Central have created. Squares include “a visibly uncomfortable celebrity,” “a humongous sword,” “a really excited goth,” and “a grown man posing with toys.” Anyone who’s spent any time at a comic, sci-fi, anime, or other miscellaneous type of geek convention (or, really, just seen any pictures from one) will realize immediately that you could win this game after less than five minutes at the San Diego Convention Center. Sadly, there is no prize — but Comedy Central is encouraging attendees to tweet photos of the squares they find. … Read More
Friday Afternoon Time Waster: Movie Trailer Bingo
In case you haven’t noticed, readers, today is Friday. We made it! But we still have to wait out our jobs for a few more hours until it’s time to run screaming into the streets like those crazy, new college graduates we’ve been seeing around town these past few days. The only way to pass the time is to play on the internet, and the folks at Entertainment Weekly have offered up the perfect toy: Movie Trailer Bingo. EW waxes philosophical about the form, noting, “Trailers are the perfect medium for our relentlessly meta moment: Witness the rise of the Fake Trailer as a cultural force, sometimes deconstructive, sometimes aspirational.” While we agree, we also prefer not to overthink it this late in the work week. So if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to peruse the trailers for today’s releases, bingo card in hand. … Read More
