Beverly Hills, 90210: Where Are They Now?

It has been 20 years ago this week since Aaron Spelling unleashed this high school soap on the world, but if last month’s buzz surrounding 90210 Day is indication, it still has a firm place in the pop culture zeitgeist. And what about its stars? For simplicity’s sake, we’re only going to focus on the main characters from the West Beverly High years, or you could be reading all day.

Jason Priestley
After playing Brandon Walsh for eight years, Jason decided to leave the show as a cast member in 1998, but stayed on as an executive producer until the end. He played the role of Jack Harper on Tru Calling from 2004 to 2005, and has also appeared on Love Monkey, the WB’s What I Like About You, Without a Trace, My Name Is Earl, and a Lifetime Original movie called Side Order of Life. His behind the camera work includes an episode from the final season of 7th Heaven, two episodes of The Secret Life of the American Teenager and the episode of the 90210 reboot that marked Tori Spelling’s return to the show.

On the personal side of things, after dating Shannen Doherty in 1990, and then living with the actress who played Emily Valentine for five years, Jason married 90210 make-up artist Ashlee Petersen in 1999. They divorced the following year. In 2005, he married another make-up artist — Naomi Lowde. They’re still together and have two young children, a daughter who is three and a 1-year-old son.

Jason has always been a fan of race car driving. In 2002, he was seriously injured during a practice run at the Kentucky Speedway when his car crashed into a wall going nearly 180 miles per hour. He made a full recovery.

This SNL Digital Short was the only part of last night’s Saturday Night Live season premiere — which was hosted by Megan Fox — that made us laugh out loud. Bonus points for the cameo by her boyfriend, Brian Austin Green. But that’s not what everyone is talking about: Cast newbie Jenny Slate dropped an accidental f-bomb during a so-so skit called Biker Chick Chat. Le scandale! Kudos to Slate, Fox, and Kristen Wiig for not missing a beat, though there was definitely an “oh shit” vibe in the air; surely someone at the FCC understands the emotional stress of making your SNL debut and will cut her a break?
