In Doucède’s series Égarements and Quotidien, which we spotted over at My Modern Met, the French photographer injects everyday scenes with a healthy dose of buoyant whimsy, suspending household objects above the heads of her subjects in a surreal whirlwind. ”I look for the decisive moment when the person in the photo starts to think about something else,” she says. “And, at a particular moment, the dream takes over and then the whole décor surrounding the person comes to life.” And as far as those pesky strings used to actually hang all that floating fruit and cutlery?
