Ominous Photographs of a Blacked-Out NYC After the Storm

After Hurricane Sandy wreaked its watery havoc on New York City this week, wide swaths of the big city were left without any of their bright lights. Photographer Randy Scott Slavin, whose surreal 360-degree landscapes we’ve featured before, took to the streets with his tripod, taking long-exposure photographs that juxtapose the frantic lights of the cars with the eerie stillness of the surrounding buildings. The resultant series, entitled NYC Unplugged, which we spotted over at PetaPixel, is as beautiful as it is ominous. My Alternate Perspectives series is a collection of the works culled from these photographic explorations.” Click through to see some of our favorites from the series, and then be sure to head over to Slavin’s website to check out even more of his amazing work. … Read More
