Check Out Amanda Palmer’s Exclusive Flavorpill Session

Last week, we welcomed the fabulous Amanda Palmer into our office as the latest performer in the Flavorpill Sessions concert series, presented with Livestream. We’ve been huge fans of Palmer since her early days in the Dresden Dolls, and based on what she’s revealed so far, her new album, Theater Is Evil, could be her best work yet. The record isn’t out until September 11, but Palmer and her new band, the Grand Theft Orchestra, have been teasing a good portion of it via recent live shows and digital samples. Meanwhile, her recent high-profile success on Kickstarter has exposed Palmer to an even wider audience — but exposure isn’t something the extremely inventive songwriter has ever had a problem with, as emphasized by her latest music video.

During her hour-long session, the performer commonly referred to as AFP ran through stripped-down solo versions of new tracks including “The Killing Type” and “The Bed Song,” pausing to take requests and answer questions from fans around the world. Our all-new in-office concert series continued last week with a visit from one of modern music’s most enduring psychedelic pop acts, the Dandy Warhols. On tour in support of their fantastic new album, This Machine, frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor and drummer Brent DeBoer stopped by Flavorpill HQ to play stripped-down versions of songs from throughout their catalog and answer questions from fans around the world. The Flavorpill Sessions Return with K’naan

Last month marked the debut of the all-new Flavorpill Sessions concert series presented by Sonos, featuring live, stripped-down performances by some of our favorite musicians right here at Flavorpill HQ in NYC. We kicked things off with rising Swedish stars We Are Serenades, and this week marks not one, but two more amazing performances. You can catch today’s set by the Dandy Warhols at 2pm EST on our Livestream channel, followed by Malaysian superstar Yuna performing live on Thursday at 4pm EST. The Flavorpill Sessions Kick Off with We Are Serenades

If you’re a regular reader of this site, you know that music is one of our biggest obsessions. In addition to listening to countless albums and watching an endless stream of videos so we can bring you the best of the lot, we also catch as many live shows as possible. But as much as we love going to concerts, it occurred to us that it would be even better to have the shows come to us. That’s why we created the brand-new Flavorpill Sessions series.

Each month, we’ll be inviting one of our favorite musical acts into our HQ in NYC to perform an exclusive stripped-down set in front of an intimate crowd. Each show will be broadcasted live by our friends at Livestream, then featured on the Flavorpill Sessions site. We’ve partnered up with the wireless home audio experts at Sonos to launch the series, and our inaugural installment features fantastic Swedish indie-pop act We Are Serenades.
