The Most Beautiful Opera Houses in the World

Rising from the Oslofjord inlet like an iceberg is the Oslo Opera House. Co.Design recently wrote about a faceted wall installation inside the modern performance space created by Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson. The collection features characters including Romeo, Titania, Ariel, Macbeth, and Lady Macbeth. See if you can figure out who’s who after the jump, and visit Tadder’s website and Behance page for more of his work. … Read More

Stunning Photos of Ornate Theaters

We’ve been admiring the work of Paris-based photographer Franck Bohbot for some time. The artist previously worked on film sets, and the lush vastness of his images definitely reveals a cinematic influence. We spotted Bohbot’s Theaters series on his website, which is exactly what it sounds like: stunning photos of baroque theaters dripping with crystal chandeliers and red velvet. The architecture is incredible, and Bohbot’s camera captures the grandiose air of each domed structure from varying perspectives. These aren’t theater houses, these are theater palaces — and you can see the rest of these beauties in our gallery below. … Read More
