Rainn Wilson Reveals His Angus T. Jones-Inspired Feelings on ‘The Office’

“Dwight from The Office is nothing, OK? The Office is nothing, all right? If you watch The Office… please don’t watch The Office. I’m on The Office, it’s filth.” Oh yes, TV fans, it’s happening again. Inspired by 19-year-old Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones’ now-partially-retracted YouTube video denouncing that show, Rainn Wilson has been moved to tell us what he really thinks about The Office. And in homage to Jones’ clip, he even appears with an eerily silent buddy for moral support: Craig Robinson, who is killing it on the viral video front this week. So, which sitcom star will have a faux religious revelation next? Amy Poehler? Donald Glover? Mindy Kaling? Here’s hoping this will start a full-on meme. … Read More

Hollywood has its share of actors who have regretted accepting roles that were embarrassing, but how bad do things have to get for a star to bad-mouth a project? What about an entire television series? We saw that happen yesterday when Two and a Half Men star Angus T. Jones closed one chapter in his life to start a new one. It seems that Jones has found God, which means he wants nothing to do with the “filth” that is the Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn-created sitcom. Even though Jones became the highest paid child star in television several years ago, he wants to get out of his $350,000 an episode contract so he can “walk with God.” We share more about his kerfuffle with the series after the break, and feature other TV actors who bad-mouthed their own shows. Last night House returned in its eighth season on Fox to less than stellar ratings. We don’t know about you, but we’re not surprised. What more can possibly happen on this show? The last season ended with a crash, literally, when Gregory House drove his car into long-time crush Cuddy’s house, and this season begins with his release from a short stint in jail. He’s already done the rehab thing. He’s already done the almost dying thing. So what now? Perhaps a DNR would have been in order at the conclusion of Season 6.
