*SPOILERS ABOUND!*
One more Stark fell on last night’s episode of Game of Thrones, the penultimate of Season 6. Unsurprisingly, Rickon’s demise came at the hands of Ramsay Bolton, who did just what Sansa warned Jon he would — play a cruel, twisted game. As House Bolton’s army confronts Jon’s ragtag crew in an epic battle for the North, Ramsay instructs Rickon to run to his brother on the other side of the battlefield.
But as soon as he sprints, Ramsay grabs his bow and quiver of arrows and begins to shoot. Just as Rickon is about to reach Jon’s horse, an arrow pierces Rickon’s chest and he collapses to the ground, dead.
On Twitter, the reaction was near-unanimous: Why the hell did Rickon run in a straight line?! Did the boy never learn to zig-zag? Are the Starks maybe not as smart as they’re made out to be?
Poor, spatially unaware Rickon. Rest in peace, little man.
