As our friends over at The Playlist noted, the trailer for It’s Kind of a Funny Story is exactly the coming-of-age dramedy you’d expect from Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, the talented team behind Half Nelson and Sugar. It stars United States of Tara‘s Keir Gilchrist as a depressed teen who ends up in an adult psychiatric unit after a botched suicide attempt. Zach Galifianakis plays another one of the crazies/the Chief to his McMurphy. There’s an adorable romantic plot line with Emma Roberts, who’s definitely crazy because she thinks she’s ugly. Lauren Graham, Viola Davis, Zoe Kravitz, Aasif Mandvi, Jim Gaffigan, and Jeremy Davies also star. The film’s score was written by Broken Social Scene, and Ida Maria’s “Oh My God” is the backing track here. Are you excited yet?
It’s Kind Of A Funny Story hit theaters September 24, 2010.
