A “vintage” toilet without a seat or lid from the Cornish, New Hampshire home where literary recluse J.D. Salinger lived in the ’80s is being auctioned on eBay for a “buy it now” price of $1 million. According to the rather gauche and extremely exclamatory listing:
“When he died, his wife inherited all of his manuscripts with plans to eventually release some of them! Who knows how many of these stories were thought up and written while Salinger sat on this throne!… It will come to you uncleaned and in it’s [sic] original condition when it was removed from Salinger’s old home!”
It also comes with a letter of authenticity from Joan Littlefield, the current owner of the home. [via Vulture]
