Suck: The Only Vampire Movie Starring Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper

By now, most of us in our right minds are, if you’ll pardon the expression, sick to death of vampires. Forget about Twilight overload — the new omni-vamp parody Vampire Suck is supposed to be beyond awful, and even our standby True Blood seems poised to jump the coffin. (Sookie is a what?) But we can’t bring ourselves to swear off bloodsuckers yet — because there’s a new vampire film premiering this Labor Day weekend, and it stars Dave Foley (of Kids in the Hall fame), Malcolm McDowell, Iggy Pop, and Alice Cooper.

That’s right, folks: Suck is a rock ‘n roll vampire movie, about a pathetic band named The Winners (get it?), who get a supernatural career boost after their bassist spends a night with a hot lady vamp (Jessica Pare). Everything is hunky dory until wonderfully named vampire hunter Eddie Van Helsing (Malcolm McDowell) catches The Winners’ scent…

A new trailer opens with Cooper tending bar and dispensing sage advice. There are some campy fangs, an Abbey Road parody, McDowell with an eye patch, Iggy Pop’s maniacal laugh… and teasers for even more high-profile musician cameos: Henry Rollins, Moby, and Rush’s Alex Lifeson all make appearances. Oh, and then there’s a plug for the soundtrack, featuring Lou Reed, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and (of course) Alice Cooper.

Watch a longer trailer below and let us know whether you’ll be breaking your vampire boycott to see Suck.
