Daily Dose Pick: Mark Seliger

Share:

Mark Seliger’s book of landscapes, still lifes, and portraits represents a striking departure from his photographs of Kurt Cobain, Drew Barrymore, and President Barack Obama.

Seliger shot more than a hundred covers for Rolling Stone magazine between 1992 and 2002. He’s since scored a contract with Condé Nast, shooting regularly for Vanity Fair, Vogue Italia, and other high-profile mags. While the photographer has captured everyone from Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen to Johnny Knoxville and the cast of Glee, his book Listen features more than 90 tritones that were printed with a turn-of-the-century photographic process, serving as a visually compelling counterpoint to the artist’s iconic editorial and commercial photography.
