Today in Baffling Remakes: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

7

Hey, Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. Ready for something completely unexpected? Warner Bros. — yes, the parent company of the TV network that canceled the series back in 2001, when it moved to UPN — has announced plans to make a new Buffy movie. Except it’s not exactly a new Buffy movie, because it’s a remake of Joss Whedon’s delightfully campy but also indisputably inferior 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer film. We don’t know much about the project yet, the fact that it’s happening at all rates pretty high on our WTF scale. In case you’ve forgotten how silly the original Buffy is, we’ve posted the trailer after the jump.
