Can't forget the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Medzilaborce, Slovakia. http://www.warholcity.com/obr/WarholCity2.png

and i would like to add Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum to the bunch http://is.gd/j5Uns

I believe you should include the Niteroi´s Museum of Contemporary Art in Rio, by Oscar Niemeyer.

Second the museum contemporary art, rio de janeiro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niter%C3%B3i_Contemporary_Art_Museum and the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston -- but great selections!

I second that the harbor-facing cantilevered ICA in Boston, MA should be on this list.

21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan is an understated beauty. http://bit.ly/egFx5R

The Groninger Museum in the north of Holland is *amazing*!!!! http://www.groningermuseum.nl/en/visit

Yes, where is the De Young in San Francisco?

Te Papa museum in Wellington NZ is not just a great building, architecturally, but inside it is a very different experience of what makes a modern museum. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IhtnirAVkaw/TIzLQ5_QkxI/AAAAAAAAH7g/5WxaZbVruOU/s1600/05.jpg It has exhibits designed to get kids 'hands on', as well as traditional display spaces and elements of 'amusement park' as well. Its' location on the waterfront and within easy walking distance of the CBD also means it is used for all manner of ivic events and is very much a piece of Wellington city life.

Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in Boston, by Diller, Scofidio, Renfro.

***clarification: The Dalí Theatre-Museum, in Figueres, Spain, which was deigned by Dalí himself.

Casa Batló, La Padrera or La Sagrada Familia all by Antonio Gaudí (all in Barcelona, Spain) also the Salvador Dalí museum in Figueres, Spain.

Another vote for the Tate Modern, which is a masterful transformation of an old power-generation facility on the Thames.

museum of contemporary art - niterói, rio de janeiro, designed by Niemeyer: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2700/4113625254_29b7e7dd88.jpg

You need to add the Tate Modern in London - it isn't all about what it looks like from the outside!

You also need to look at the city museum in St Louis missouri

not all of them are here on a list, some ok, but hthere are more even cooler!!!!

You guys left out the De Young Musuem in San Francisco.
