Pic of the Day: A Fairy-Tale Ball Gown Made of Golden Books

8

We recently posted a roundup of books that inspired fashion designers, but we have never seen a designer who touts his influences quite as loudly as Ryan Novelline. He created beguiling ball gown you see above entirely out of childhood favorites Golden Books, constructing the bodice out of their gold-foil bindings and sewing their brightly colored illustrations together to make the full skirt. See more images of the dress after the jump and click over to Novelline’s website for a pictorial chronicle of how he made it.
